The Brutalist outline of the 1970s Grade 2 lisated Olivier Theatre is a well-loved part of the London landscape these days, part of the National Theatre Complex on the Thames’ South bank, on the south side of Waterloo Bridge. It presents varied theatre fare from comedies and dance to serious plays and top class transfers of every kind from elsewhere in the country. As part of the National complex, it’s modern and easy to access with plenty more entertainment on hand including live music in the foyers, art exhibitions, shopping and eating. The Olivier is the complex’s main auditorium, inspired by the ancient Greek theatre at Epidaurus with a huge open stage and excellent views from every seat. They also run a well-known and respected Outreach project, designed to bring great theatre to more people and support young people.
